Quentin Stacy Wilburn
Stacy Wilburn, 91, of East Greenbush, NY, died peacefully Sunday, July 9, 2017 at St. Peter's Hospital surrounded by his family. Born October 18, 1925, in Mercer County, Missouri, he was the son of the late Jessie D. and Clessie (Dinsmore) Wilburn.
Stacy served in the U.S. Navy V-12 during WWII. He graduated from Baldwin-Wallace College in 1948, member Lambda Chi Alpha, and started his career as an industrial engineer. In 1963, he became a pioneer in the automation profession and worked in various capacities in information systems until he retired after 35 years with New York State in 2013.
Stacy was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Albany and the American Legion Melvin Roads Post1231 in Clinton Heights.
He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Dorothy D. Wilburn, along with four children: Marti Wilburn of Meadville, PA, Dave (Denise) Wilburn and Tom Wilburn of Akron, OH, Susan Wilburn of Seattle, WA; two step children, Dan (Kristie) Batcher of Albany, NY and Jeff (Cindy) Batcher of Acworth, GA; 3 grandchildren, David Silvester (Julie), Jessica Tarr (Steve), and Matthew Wilburn; 5 step grandchildren, Bridget, Danielle and Lauren Batcher, Joe and Andrea Mullen; 3 great-grandchildren; and many loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was predeceased by 10 siblings.
Memorial service will be held on August 7, 11 a.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church, 235 Lark St, Albany. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church.
