Obituary of Willie Marcus Wiley

ALBANY - Willie "Marcus" Wiley, 49, died Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at Albany Medical Center Hospital. He was the son of Dorothy Wiley and the late DeVon McCoy. Marcus was born and raised in Queens, lived in Florida for a few years and in Albany for the last 26 years. He attended SUNY Plattsburgh and CUNY LaGuardia and was completing his Bachelor's degree in criminal justice thru the University of Phoenix. He was granted his Bachelor's degree. While living in Albany, he worked at St. Anne's Institute, Samaritan Shelter, CRJ, Federal Halfway House and the Center for Disability services. He took pride in his education and completing his degree. Marcus was caring and always offered a helping hand to anyone who needed it, a shoulder to cry on or simply a bartender. He was funny and very sarcastic. Marcus loved his children very much and they were his world. He enjoyed sports, New York Yankees and the New York Giants, he was a diehard fan. He had a great sense of humor and was so enjoyable to be around, a positive person who enjoyed and loved life. Marcus is survived by his fiancé Crystal Spooner; his children, Malik Wiley, Marquez Wiley, Shariya Sutherland, Edward Foster and Marcellus Wiley; his siblings, Robert Wiley, Rodney Wiley, Sandra Wiley, Pamela Paisley and Carlos Wiley. He was predeceased by his brother Ralph Wiley. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 18, 2018 from 12-3pm at the W.J. Lyons Jr. Funeral Home, 1700 Washington Ave., Rensselaer, NY 12144. A funeral service and burial will be held in Queens, NY.
