Obituary of Shannon L. (Snyder) Tanner

Rensselaer- Shannon L. (Snyder) Tanner, 42, died Tuesday, January 29, 2019 in Community Hospice at St. Peter’s Hospital.  She was born in Albany and was a lifelong resident of Rensselaer. She was the daughter of Ronald and Ellen (Rivenburgh) Snyder.

          Shannon was a longtime member of the Rensselaer Eagles and was a proud supporter of several charities and participated in walks for both MS and breast cancer. She was a devoted wife and mother.

          Shannon is survived by her husband John Tanner; her daughters Sheila Marie and Elizabeth Anne; her siblings Edward and Corey (Lisa) Miller and Kim and Kellie Snyder; her mother and father-in-law John and Nadine Tanner. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and best friend and caregiver Gina LaRose.

          Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 1, 2019 at 6pm in the W.J. Lyons. Jr., Funeral Home, 1700 Washington Ave., Rensselaer. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the funeral home beginning at 3pm.
