My deepest sympathies to the Sisters of Mercy for the passing of Sister Virginia. Gloria was a mainstay in my family and in my life. She was always there for us for the important moments, including holidays, religious events and my wedding. Despite living hours away, she always made the trip, regardless of the weather. Growing up, every year we would meet at the outlets and make a day of shopping, lunch and spending time together. Christmas was another special time that she was always there for. She continued to be a part of my children’s lives, always remembering their birthdays and checking in on them. Most recently, she was writing pen pal letters to them, which helped lift everyone’s spirits during quarantine. Her unexpected passing was a shock to our family and she will be deeply missed.
