Rensselaer-Barbara (Cunningham) Harwood age 80 passed away Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2021 in Delmar. She was born and raised in the south end of Albany and resided in Rensselaer most of her life. She worked at various hospitals in housekeeping. Known as “Babs” she enjoyed her family, her friends and being retired. Barbara cared for her husband George until his death. Several years later, she enjoyed spending time with her friend Tony and cared for him until he passed. They spent several years together. Barbara had many long term friendships and also welcomed anyone that stopped by to have a sit down on the porch. Barbara was funny. The things she would do or say will leave us with much laughter and conversation. She will never be forgotten by those that loved her and spent time with her. She loved anything Irish and even has an Irish room in her house. If you ever gave her a gift or a card, she kept it and proudly displayed it in her home for all to see and enjoy. Wife of the late George Harwood. Daughter of the late Catherine and James Cunningham. Mother of Mary and Daniel and the late Christina and Robert who both passed in August of 2021. Grandmother of Jessica, Gianna, Daniel, Ashley, Joshua, Catherine, Shawn, Brandon and the late Matthew. Also survived by 14 great grandchildren.
