Obituary of Joseph "Joey" R. Bearder

Village of Colonie- Joseph R. “Joey” Bearder age 45 passed away unexpectedly from unknown heart disease on Monday, March 14, 2022.  Joey was born in Albany and was a proud resident of the Village of Colonie. He was a clerk at the NYS Library for 20 years.  Joey was an avid sports and outdoorsman. He enjoyed football, baseball and NASCAR.  Joey loved spending time camping with sister MaryBeth and brother-in-law Bob. He would often ride his bike in the summer around the park and liked being active and working out in his spare time. Joey would light up any room he would walk into and was always anyone’s friend.

Beloved son of Rudolph and Patricia Bearder.  Cherished brother of MaryBeth (Bob) Cossart.  Loving and proud uncle of Samantha Cossart. Special nephew of Joan Murphy.  He is also survived by his “brothers” the Ciullo boys, many cousins and his second parents, JoAnne and Angelo Garmley. He was predeceased by his fiancé Jessica Garmley and several aunts and uncles.  

Funeral from the W.J. Lyons Jr. Funeral Home, 1700 Washington Avenue Rensselaer, Friday, March 18, 2022 at 4PM.  All are welcome to attend.  Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home prior to the service from 2-4 PM.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in Joey’s memory may be made to the Ronald McDonald House, 139 S. Lake Avenue, Albany, NY 12208.
