Obituary of Malinda Grimes

Rensselaer - Malinda Grimes entered into eternal rest on May 31, 2022.  Malinda was born in Fort Pierce, Florida on August 17, 1945 to the late George Johnson and Floreen Hall-Johnson.  Malinda was employed for 17 years at St. Peter’s Hospital, then went to Rosewood Gardens for 25 years until she retired as a CNA.

Malinda leaves to cherish her memories with her husband Richard A. Grimes, Jr. of 56 years.  Her children Michael Johnson, Eva (James) Daniel, Richard (Keisha) Grimes, III, Sean (Thelma) Grimes, Sr., Lawrence (Alicia) Grimes, 29 grandchildren and 54 great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, her brothers and sisters; Francine, Kenny, Barry, Jeffrey, Robin, Robert.

She was predeceased by her son; Randy Johnson, her grandson; Day-twan Grimes, her brothers; George Johnson, Jr., Ernest Hall, Jr., her sisters; Margaret Haggray, Cora Brandown-Scales, and Anita Cogle.  She also leaves a host of relatives and friends to cherish her memories.

Funeral will be held at W. J. Lyons, Jr. Funeral Home, Inc. 1700 Washington Ave, Rensselaer, NY, Monday, June 6, 2022 at 11AM.  Relatives and friends are invited and may call prior to the service beginning at 10AM.  Interment will be in Albany Rural Cemetery, Menands, NY.
