Obituary of Robert G. Giddings

North Greenbush-Robert G. Giddings, 82, passed away Tuesday, September 27, 2022 at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany after a long illness.  He was born in Albany to the late George and Elizabeth Giddings. He was a proud U.S. Army Veteran, serving from 1959-1962.  Bob worked at Sterling Winthrop in Rensselaer for 29 years.  He was a lifelong member of the Rensselaer Elk Lodge #2073; being Elk of the year in 1994.  He was also a 5-year trustee, and worked on the Bingo and House committees for many years. Bob enjoyed camping, walking, and riding his motorcycle.  He was the husband of Lorraine M. (Lappies) Giddings, father of Mark (Joan) Giddings and Lisa Giddings; grandfather to Isabella Giddings; brother of Emerson Giddings.  He is survived by several nieces and nephews.  Funeral service will be held at the W.J. Lyons, Jr. Funeral Home, 1700 Washington Avenue, Rensselaer on Tuesday, October 4, 2022 at 6:00 pm. Relatives and friends are invited and may call prior to the service from 4:00-6:00pm.
