Dear Pop,
In honor of your life and Veterans Day, we thank you for your service to our country and for your many sacrifices for our family.
In true Jazzy fashion, this entry is late. Usually, I'd apologize, but in your eyes, I could do no wrong.
Posting a written tribute to you, the Greatest Man I've ever known has proven to be just as difficult as speaking at your heartfelt Farewell Party. I thought it must be stage fright as I stood up at the podium, looking at all of the familiar faces of family and friends who remained until the very end and thinking of the many more who showed up to pay their respects. Nearly a week has passed and now I realize, it wasn't the crowd after all. Speaking or writing a farewell message to my Pop was no easy task and I refuse to say "goodbye".
Wynonna Judd recently said she's in between "grief and gratitude." I wholeheartedly agree and will forever be grateful for your memory.
Thank you for loving me unconditionally and investing in me, Pop. You will always be my Hero and a strong guiding force in my life.
