Obituary of Patricia A Whitcher

Defreestville- Patricia Ann (Coffey) Whitcher, 72, of Defreestville passed away at her family home on January 1, 2023. She was born in Albany to her loving parents Daniel and Henrietta (Tanner) Coffey and her two older brothers. Patty was a graduate of Columbia High School. She continued her education at Russell Sage College where she received a Bachelor’s degree. Patty worked for the State and retired from the New York State Office of the State Comptroller. She was an avid gardener and loved traveling, especially on her annual trip to Beach Haven, NJ. Patty was a kind, loving person with an infectious, memorable laugh. 

In addition to her parents, Patricia is predeceased by her brothers Daniel Coffey, Jr. and David Coffey. She is survived by her second cousins Jane Konisky, Carol Wilde, and Charles Fletcher. She is also survived by her four nieces and nephews, as well as their children. 

A funeral service will be held at the W.J. Lyons Jr. Funeral Home on Thursday, January 12, 2023 at 1PM.  Relatives and friends are invited to call prior to the service from 12-1pm. Interment will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, East Greenbush.
