Obituary of Catherine M. Sterling

Catherine M. Sterling, 93, passed away peacefully on March 14, 2023. She was born to parents Willis and Letha Kilbara, in August of 1929. Catherine is predeceased by her husband of 45 years George G. Sterling (1994), her son Ronald (1975), grandsons, Joseph (1980) and Daniel (2021). She is survived by her three children Paul (Sara), George (Patti) and Richard (Jodi). Together, Catherine and George had a total of ten grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren, whom she loved dearly. Catherine lived a full life, enjoying visits with her family and often enjoyed playing bingo and spending time with her best friend Jackie (A.J.).  Catherine also enjoyed the many pleasures of cooking, family visits and eating comfort food. She was known at gatherings for her deviled eggs and eating her burnt hot dogs!
Funeral from the W.J. Lyons, Jr. Funeral Home, 1700 Washington Avenue, Rensselaer NY, Tuesday, March 21st at 10:30 AM. All are welcome to attend. Relative and friends are invited and may call to the funeral home on Monday, March 20th from 4-7 pm. Interment will be in Graceland Cemetery.
