Francine was born in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, NY, on June 16, 1929. She was the daughter of the late Joseph P. Bilello and Katherine Gagliano Bilello. Her father died in 1948. Her mother, who lived in the East Greenbush home for many years, died in 1993. There was one loving brother, James Joseph Bilello, who is no longer living. The parents were proud of their Italian heritage.
Francine is survived by her husband, Frank James Ginther of 57 years (married in 1966), a retired teacher from the East Greenbush School District. There were no children. There were three loving aunts, all deceased: Mary, Lillian, and Frances Gagliano. Francine stayed in touch with a cousin, John Artale and his wife Evelyn in Lakewood, NJ. There is a niece, Kristine Bilello and her husband of Queens, NY and her sister-in-law, Inger Bilello of Lake Worth, Florida.
After graduation from Fort Hamilton High School in 1946 she majored in Spanish at Hunter College then graduated from Columbia-Presbyterian Nursing School in 1952. She enjoyed several variant nursing assignments including the Brooklyn Hospital, a stint with the Standard Oil of New Jersey, and after marriage the Albany Memorial Hospital.
Francine spent many years assisting with her husband's plumbing and heating services business, before aiding him as a proofreader for The Rensselaer Beacon newspaper while managing the needs of her aging mother.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Cancer Society or the Alzheimer's Association would be appreciated. A special thanks goes to the staff of Samaritan Hospital for their thoughtful consideration.
Funeral arrangements are made with the W. J. Lyons Jr. Funeral Home Inc. at 1700 Washington Avenue, Rensselaer, NY. Interment is planned for the Maryland, NY Cemetery, in her husband's hometown.
