I came to know Connie when she needed someone to come to her home and "help her out" a little and provide some company. Her idea of me helping her was to tell me to sit down and watch TV with her, but eventually she started to let me actually do things. I came to love her. She was independent and spunky and spoke her mind. And she was kind. And she loved her family so very much, and missed being at the hub of things. She taught me things. She told me stories. We shared memories of our lives. I have missed her so much, and will continue to miss her.

Connie introduced herself and Jack to Gary and I one Sunday at church. That was the beginning of our friendship. We shared many great times together. Going to dinner, going to each others houses just to chat and laugh. We always had a party at Christmas time and Connie and Jack always came. I missed her when she was not at her home anymore and will always miss her.

Blessed with a name like Constance, she might as well have used an alias, "Patience." My chief recollection is of how tolerant she was of Tracey's friends galloping in and out of the house when we were in high school, all of us horsing around at high volume, shrieking nonsense and wreaking destruction. The loss is profound.
