Joanne was an incredibly nice person. I always enjoyed her company and I know Barbara also liked spending time with her. I fondly remember all our parties and get togethers. She always made everybody happy.

I am sad to learn of Joanne’s passing. A very nice write up for such a lovely person.
I first met Joanne many years ago when we worked together at our first real job after high school. We sure had some good times and definitely some fun lunch outings. And our bowling league back in the day - a lot of laughs. I certainly smiled when I read Joanne took up bowling again, and I’m sure she made it a fun time for all.
Although our personal lives took us in different directions, we stayed in touch and tried to keep up. I regret we drifted apart in our later years. I’m happy to know Joanne had a wonderful and supportive family and friends.
As a family, I hope all the memories you share help you through this difficult time.
Love,
Pat Parrotte

Bill and family
Sorry for your loss.
Joanne and I attended Mercy High School together. We shared the same birthdate. Our friendship was strong through high school. I atttended her wedding when she and Bill were married. We tagged our Christmas tree for a few years, ending up back at their house for hot chocolate and homemade cookies. We had alot of good times!
Our friendship was strong and continued until they moved to Europe. We remained in touch on and off. When she returned after her first trip abroad we got together again.
But like many others, obligations, family commitments and different lives caused us to drift. The last visit we had . together was dinner at Bellini”s in Slingerlands. She had a brand new Mercedes!! Loved it.
She was a good friend. Devastating news. My heart and prayers go out to her family. May she rest in peace.
With love and deep felt sorrow,
Clara Pollicino Cole.

To the McCarthy family, I am so very sorry to hear about the loss of Joanne. I, too remember her sitting by Babcock Lake enjoying her family, the water and sun. I was lucky enough to have taken a hike with her where we spoke of shared life experiences of joy and grief. I am so grateful for the piece of herself she shared with me that day, for the wonderful friend (Colin) she brought into this world, for and the gorgeous baby quilt she made for our family.

I am blessed to have so many memories of Joanne and the family because for years we were neighbors. To know Joanne was to love her. She was so kind and caring for everyone she met and was the first to help anyone in the neighborhood. She loved her family so much and spoke with such pride as her children grew up. She was a class act and I will never forget the many times we talked out in the street and just laughed and laughed. She will be missed. I am so sorry Mr. McCarthy, Meghan, Erinn and Colin but know I have you all in thoughts and prayers.
