Michael Lord Sr., 81, of East Greenbush died Monday, June 12. Surrounded by his family, he passed away following a brief battle with cancer.
Born in Albany, he was the son of the late William and Eunice Lord. Michael served in the United States Air Force and was a proud veteran of the Vietnam War. Michael was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather to his 7 grandchildren. He loved weekend trips to the beach and enjoyed trying his luck at the area casinos. Michael was the type of person you could always count on for a smile and a laugh with his one-of-a-kind sense of humor.
Michael is survived by his beloved wife of 43 years, Georgiana; his children, Mary Beth (Martin Jr) Moore, Michael (Kelly) Lord Jr., and Greg (Caitlin) Conklin whom he considered a son; his grandchildren, Martin III, Gavin, Londin, Logan, Taten, and Carson Moore, and Vivian and Vincent Lord; and his sister Judith Adams; several nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his parents and his brothers William and Edward Lord.
Family and friends are invited to visit with Michael's family on Tuesday, June 20, from 5-7 p.m. at W.J. Lyons Funeral Home.
