Obituary of Timothy J. Tiernan

Timothy James Tiernan

September 24, 1953 - July 22, 2023

Today we say our final goodbye to our beloved brother Timothy (Tim) James Tiernan who went on to be with his mother; Sarah Judith Tiernan, father; Gerald Joseph Tiernan Sr., brothers; Gerald Joseph Tiernan Jr., and Channing Michael Tiernan, as well as nephew; Patrick Duane Tiernan and his mother Judy Tiernan. Timothy is survived by brothers; Thomas Anthony Tiernan (Joanne) and Kevin Joseph Tiernan, sister-in-law; Darlene Tiernan, nephew; Brian Tiernan and the love of his life Lisa Sager. 

Tim was a great lover of 50s and 60s music. His favorite song was "My Way" by Frank Sinatra, by which he lived his life. He was Irish and stubborn, but easy to love. Tim was an active volunteer firefighter for many years with the City of Rensselaer Fire Department, as a member of the G.S. Mink - T. Claxton Hose Company #2. Tim was a Lieutenant with the fire company. 

Family and friends are invited and may call on Wednesday, July 26, 2023, from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at the W.J. Lyons Jr. Funeral Home, 1700 Washington Ave. Rensselaer, NY 12144. Funeral service will be conducted on Thursday, July 27, 2023, at 10:00 a.m., at the funeral home. Burial will immediately follow the service, in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, 3rd Ave. Ext. Rensselaer, NY 12144. 

Tim, we love you and we will always miss you.
