Obituary of Jean M. O'Donnell

Rensselaer- Jean M. O’Donnell, 94, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, October 14, 2023.
A devout Catholic, Jean was a parishioner of St. John the Evangelist and St. Joseph, in Rensselaer. She was a 1950 graduate of St. Peter’s Hospital School of Nursing. Jean was a registered nurse at St. Peter’s Hospital for over four decades.
Jean was predeceased by her parents, Anna and James O’Donnell; siblings Elinor Connell and James "Bud" O’Donnell. She is survived by her beloved sister Ann Ryan and many cherished nieces and nephews.
Jean enjoyed traveling throughout her lifetime including her countless visits to Ireland and Cape Cod. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, October 20, at 10:30 am at St. John the Evangelist and St. Joseph, 50 Herrick Street, Rensselaer with interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, East Greenbush. Calling hours to be held at W.J. Lyons Funeral Home, 1700 Washington Avenue, Rensselaer on Thursday from 4:00-7:00 pm.
