Obituary of Dr. Ralph Quade

Guilderland- Dr. Ralph Quade, age 76, a respected orthopedic surgeon known for his compassion and dedication to his patients, passed away on February 22, 2024, in Albany, NY. Born in Milwaukee, WI on April 18, 1947, Ralph was the son of the late Mary (Zosel) and Ralph Quade. He lived a fulfilling life dedicated to his profession and family.

His thirst for knowledge led him to earn a degree in medicine and become a skilled orthopedic surgeon, where he tirelessly helped numerous patients regain their mobility and quality of life. Ralph started his studies at Millikin University, class of 1969, went on to the University of Illinois Medical School class of 1975 and served his residency at Albany Medical Center, where he found his forever home. He started his career working at a private practice. In 1989 he joined Capitol Orthopedic Consultants and then went on in 2007 to forming lifelong friendships at OrthoNY. He was a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgery. From the words of his colleagues, Dr. Quade treated every patient, every nurse, every employee and every colleague with respect and compassion.

Outside of his professional career, Ralph's passion for the outdoors was never ending. He enjoyed skiing, boating, and hiking. Mountain climbing reflected his adventurous spirit and love for nature, conquering the High Peaks, Kilimanjaro, and Mt. Everest . He was known for his kindness, humor, and generosity, traits that shone brightly in both his professional and personal life.

Ralph is survived by his beloved wife Jacqueline Quade, children, Joshua (Lauren) and Zachary Quade, grandchildren, Adelina, Kensley and Nolan Quade and brother, James Quade. Ralph's memory will forever reside in the hearts of his family, friends, and colleagues.  Reflecting on the impact he made in both his personal and professional life, Ralph Quade's presence will be deeply missed.

Funeral will be offered at the W.J. Lyons Jr. Funeral Home, 1700 Washington Avenue Rensselaer, Thursday, February 29^th at 10 AM.  Relatives and friends are invited and may call to the funeral home Wednesday, February 28^th from 5-7PM. Interment will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. May his memory continue to inspire and comfort those who mourn his passing. Contributions in his memory may be made to St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital or the Shriners Children's Hospital.
