Obituary of Anthony M. Bottillo
Troy- Anthony M. Bottillo, 88, of Troy, NY died peacefully at his home amongst loved ones on March 8, 2024. Tony was born in Troy on September 3, 1935 to Anthony and Angeline Bottillo. He attended LaSalle Institute. Upon his discharge from the US Army as a Military Policeman in 1958, Tony married the love of his life Elma Millett. They wed in 1959 and eventually had three children, Michael, Denise and Maria. After working for the State Education Dept. for over 30 years, both he and Elma retired and split their time between NY and West Palm Beach, FL. Tony enjoyed baseball, football, golf, bowling and betting on racehorses. He was an avid Yankee and Giants fan. A dry martini was his drink of choice, and he never met a bowl of macaroni that he didn’t like. Family and friends were everything to Tony. He forged friendships lasting 70+ years with the Agars, Elligotts, Connairs and many more. He cherished time spent with his extended family and “the cousins”. Most of all, he loved his family, especially his wife Elma. He is preceded in death by his wife Elma with whom he was married to for over 60 years. He leaves behind his children; Michael (Kathleen) Bottillo, Denise (Richard W.) Swahlan and Maria Bottillo, grandchildren, Tara Swahlan, Eric (Mary Jane) Swahlan, Emily Swahlan, Kristie (Nicholas) Unkovic and Jeffrey (Sara) Hunter. We know that Mom and Dad are enjoying cocktails in a warm sunny spot.
