Obituary of Marian F. Fuss

Rensselaer- Marian (Mallory) Fuss passed away March 25, 2024, after a brief illness.  She was born in Rensselaer on April 29, 1939, and was the daughter of the late Albert and Ruth Mallory. Marian began her life with many challenges with only weighing 2lbs and 2ozs. Her disability and the challenges that she had faced throughout the years never stopped her nor took her humor or smile. She would do what she could for her family and others even when she didn't have anything for herself.

Marian graduated from Rensselaer High School in 1958, where she was the class treasurer and lived most of her life in the City of Rensselaer.

She was also the local historian of her family, often sharing stories from the past to those who happen to be in the room. Marian worked most of her career with Verizon (Telephone Company) retiring in 2002 after 35 years of dedicated service. After retiring, she loved reading the Times Union paper especially for the daily horoscopes that she would read to her daughter each day before work. She loved puzzles, especially seek and find, the jumble and cryptograms. She enjoyed music and crime theme programs. Marian's heart and soul was her family.

She is survived by her daughter, best friend, and partner in crime Melissa Fuss (Peter Kerwin) as well as many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of Paul Mallory, and the late Eileen Dunbar, Doris Rutolo, Shirley Tilley, Barbara Foust, Albert Mallory, Roy (Robert) Mallory and Richard Mallory.

Relatives and friends are invited to the W.J. Lyons Jr. Funeral Home, 1700 Washington Avenue Rensselaer Monday, April 1, 2024, from 4-6pm.  Funeral will be celebrated Tuesday, April 2, at 10AM. Interment will be in New Rural Cemetery, East Greenbush.
