Obituary of Anthony F. DiBello
Anthony Francis DiBello, 91, of North Greenbush, NY, entered into eternal life with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, on Easter Sunday, March 31, 2024.
He was born in Mechanicville, on November 28, 1932, to Giuseppa (Josephine) Insogna and Raffaele (Ralph) DiBello. He was a long-time communicant of St. Michaels R.C. Church.
In addition to his parents, Anthony was predeceased by his first wife, Dorothy Burek DiBello; siblings, Josephine ‘Babe’ Fusco (Skinners), Mary West (E.P.), Vincent DiBello (Philomena), Mark DiBello (Dorothy). and Joseph DiBello.
Survivors include his devoted wife of 36 years, Donna (Riccardo) Murphy DiBello; his children, Susan Adams (John), Julie Harbour (John), Amy DiBello, Toni DiBello, Bradley DiBello, Lisa DiBello, Joseph DiBello and Mark DiBello. Also survived by grandchildren David Farnan, Jessica Farnan Wakely (Josh), Britni Taylor Secor (Sean), Jordan and Julia Harbour; great grandchildren Brayden and Hunter Secor and Parker Wakely; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Also survived by stepchildren Kerry Murphy Utstein (Ben), Lauren Murphy Yelvington (Brian), Natalie Murphy Hyde (James) and Celeste Murphy Schulman and their 12 children.
Anthony enjoyed taking endless photos and videos of his family as well as playing the ponies and occasionally jet setting to Vegas for a “quick hit” of relaxation with his wife Dorothy. He excelled at spoiling his 8 children and being “Poppy” to his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Anthony will forever be remembered for his sense of humor, his incredible work ethic, his unending faith, and for his love of animals, music, and just about any dessert he could get his hands on.
Anthony served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Numerous careers filled his entrepreneur life with hard work and variety. He was involved in the creation of Channel 10 WROW-TV, establishing two new broadcasting outlets, ad sales, promoting musical talent in the 50s and 60s and publishing the Greenbush Area News and Hospital Newspapers, and other creative business enterprises.
Friends are invited to calling hours at St. Michael the Archangel Church, 175 Williams Road, Troy, Friday, April 5, 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., with a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:30p.m. Burial to immediately follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Rensselaer NY.
Anthony’s wit and humor will be sorely missed. He often encouraged others by gifting them with silver coins reading, “WHY WORRY, GOD IS IN CONTROL” Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
