Obituary of Erin Roche Lanpher
Troy- We sadly announce the passing of Erin Roche Lanpher, at St. Peter’s Hospital on Monday, April 22, 2024, at the age of 56, from complications of pancreatitis. Erin, originally from Troy, NY, was born on August 23, 1967. She was a beloved daughter, sister, stepmother, and aunt. Erin was caring and generous to all she met, finding joy in spending time with family and friends. She was devoted to her stepdaughter, Rachael and her dog, Piper.
Erin attended Sacred Heart School in Troy, NY, graduated from Troy High School in 1985 and graduated Summa Cum Laude from Russell Sage College with a degree in Psychology. Erin’s health challenges kept her from achieving many of her career goals and limited her ability to explore her other interests, but she was a great listener and was always available to lend an ear to her friends.
Erin is survived by her mother Marcy Roche, her father Michael J. Roche Jr., her sister Maura (Roche) Feller and her husband Ed Feller. She is also survived by her brothers Patrick Roche and his wife Ashley Schaffer, and Brendan Roche; her stepdaughter Rachael Lanpher; her nephews Matthew Feller, Daniel Feller, Thomas Roche, Rollie Grinwis and nieces Marissa Feller and Mela Grinwis, as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins.
The family wishes to express sincere gratitude to the many doctors, and medical personnel who treated Erin over much of her life. We send a special thank you to the wonderful, caring medical staff and aides from St. Peter’s hospital, 6 Brady Farrell, who treated Erin with true tenderness and attempted to meet her every need. We especially thank Unity House of Troy, for helping to care for Erin for over 30 years, particularly Ann Regani, to whom we will be forever grateful.
A mass and celebration of Erin's life will be held this summer.
