In Loving Memory of Mark Anthony Streck (1984-2023)
East Greenbush-It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mark Streck on April 25, 2023, at the age of 38. Mark was a beacon of light, love, and laughter, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew and cherished him.
Born on November 15, 1984, Mark was the fourth of seven siblings in the Streck family. He is survived by his loving parents, Donna and William Streck Sr.; his four brothers, William Jr. and his wife Jenn, along with their two children, his niece Taylor and nephew Jett, John and his wife Chloe, David, and Thomas; and his two younger sisters, Amy and Sarah. Mark is also survived by his cherished grandmother, numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Each family member held a special place in his heart, and he left a lasting impact on their lives.
Mark was the embodiment of kindness, gentleness, and a willingness to always lend a helping hand. He had an uncanny ability to make others feel at ease with his warm smile, infectious laughter, and sincere thoughtfulness. His friends often described him as a "great friend" and a "good man" attributes that were deeply rooted in his nature and which radiated from him like rays of sunshine.
A hardworking man, Mark was known to go above and beyond in both his personal and professional life. His dedication and commitment were evident in everything he did, and his presence had a positive impact on everyone around him.
Mark's dedication to working hard began early in his life, as he graduated from Columbia High School in East Greenbush, NY. This foundation led him to a fulfilling career, where he devoted over 23 years of service to the Van Rensselaer Manor, as a cherished employee at the county-owned long-term care facility in Troy, where Mark provided support for the elderly and disabled individuals of Rensselaer County. His warm demeanor and steadfast work ethic made a significant impact on the lives of residents and colleagues alike. In addition to his full-time position at Van Rensselaer Manor, Mark displayed an unwavering commitment to his community through part-time employment at local businesses, including Subway and Walmart. His tireless efforts and genuine kindness had a lasting impact on those who had the privilege of working with him.
The legacy of Mark's big heart and willingness to do anything for anyone will live on in the countless lives he touched. As we mourn the loss of this remarkable man, let us remember to embody the spirit of kindness, generosity, and love that Mark exemplified throughout his life.
