Obituary of William S. McNab

Rensselaer – William (Bill) S. McNab passed away peacefully on Monday, May 15th, following his 90th birthday on Friday, May 12th. Born in Aberdeen, Scotland, Bill was one of the youngest of nine children of Agnes (Samson) and Andrew McNab. Bill immigrated to the United States at the age of 23 and became a naturalized citizen. He was a member of the Professional Golfers' Association (PGA) until his passing. As a dedicated and passionate golf professional, Bill spent a lifetime sharing his expertise and love for the game.

Bill is survived by his former wife, Shirley McNab and children, Ann Marsh and Keith McNab and grandchildren, Ian Marsh and McKenzie McNab as well as a many nieces and nephews.  Bill was predeceased by his son Martin McNab.           

Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Thursday, June 1, 2023, from 4pm to 6 pm at the W.J. Lyons, Jr., Funeral Home, 1700 Washington Ave. Rensselaer, NY.  A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 2, 2023 at 10 a.m. at East Greenbush Reformed Church, 688 Columbia Turnpike East Greenbush with internment following at East Greenbush Cemetery, Rensselaer.
