Obituary of Paul E. Brown
Sand Lake - Paul E. Brown, 69 of Sand Lake, passed away suddenly on August 16, 2023. Paul was a lifelong resident of Sand Lake and the son of the late Harold and Marion (Chambers) Brown. He graduated from Averill Park High School in 1972. After graduation he enlisted in the Marine Corp where he served and was honorably discharged as a sergeant in 1976. While serving his country he was stationed on the USS Little Rock CLG-4 ship for two years in Europe as military security. After his discharge he returned home to continue maintaining the family's dairy farm. While working the farm he also took on full time employment at Pepsi Co. from 1989-2018. In addition to his family duties, Paul and his son were known by the local community for their firewood and hay business. Paul loved his family, the farm and his country. He was honest, kind, and considerate. He was a humble man who had an abundance of integrity and he was beloved by everyone who knew him. Paul is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Julie (Ranellucci) Brown; son Paul Brown (Sand Lake); two daughters, Heather (Fred) Scarano of North Greenbush and Emily (Dwight) Crowley of Sand Lake; his adored grandchildren, Mia, Jenna, Luca Scarano and Ava and Ella Crowley; predeceased by his sister Virginia (Melvin) Diegel of Averill Park; his siblings, Nancy (Christopher) Fischer of Averill Park, William (Betty) Brown of New Hampshire, Beverly (Gary) Hunt of Texas, Diane (Gene) VanValkenburgh of Sand Lake, Carol (Michael) Gaines of Georgia. Paul is also survived by his numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and his right hand man, Mike Rohloff, of Berlin who will forever be part of our family. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 23, 11:00am at St. Henry's Church, Averill Park. Interment to follow in Sand Lake Union Cemetery.
