Please share a memory of Bernard to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
North Greenbush- It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Bernard “Jake” Duffy, on November 19, 2023. Jake departed this world surrounded by the love of his family.
Born on March 9, 1943, Jake was a man of ambition, intelligence, and compassion. His dedication to his family was unparalleled. Jake’s legacy extends beyond his family, as he was known for his remarkable ability to fix just about anything. His hands were skilled, his mind was sharp, and his determination unmatched. He approached life with a no-nonsense attitude, never sugar-coating things and always doing things his own way.
Despite his straightforward approach, Jake was the most loving and devoted husband, dad, and grandfather. His love for his family was evident in every action, every word, and every moment shared. His presence will be deeply missed, but his impact will forever be felt in the hearts of those who knew him.
In his spare time, Jake found solace and joy in his workshop, where he transformed ordinary things into works of art. His hands crafted not just objects, but also lasting memories for those fortunate enough to be a part of his life.
Jake Duffy is survived by his wife; Karen, sons; Sean, Tom, Chris, and Doug, his grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He is now reunited with his late son, Pat, in eternal peace.
A service honoring Jake’s life will be held privately for family and close friends at the W.J. Lyons Jr. Funeral Home Inc., 1700 Washington Ave. Rensselaer, NY 12144. This service will be to honor and remember a man whose impact will endure through generations. He will be interred in the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, with full military honors bestowed.
May Bernard “Jake” Duffy rest in peace and may his memory continue to inspire us all.
